Success has no age limit: Lewisham’s adult learners achieve excellent GCSE results
- 60% of learners achieved a grade 4 or above in maths — compared to just 15% nationally in further education
- 30% of learners achieved a grade 4 or above in English — outperforming the 18% nationally in further education
- 12% of learners achieved a grade 7 or above in Maths, compared to just 0.5% nationally in further educationst item
Adult learners who attend classes at our adult learning centres are proving that it’s never too late to succeed, with this year’s GCSE results in English and maths well above national averages for further education establishments.
Maintaining strong results is a testament to the service’s commitment to learner success.
Cllr Ese Erheriene, Cabinet Member for Business, Jobs, and Skills, praised the achievement:
