Personal skills – friends and relationships
This course is for adults with special educational needs and learning disabilities. You will explore what it means to be you, your personal identity, including your likes, dislikes, strengths, and emotional responses to different situations. You will be supported to recognise what makes you feel comfortable or uncomfortable and begin to develop strategies to respond appropriately. This term focuses on developing your self-awareness and confidence. Through group discussions, role play, videos, and worksheets, you can discover new aspects of yourself and reflect on your behaviour. You will produce a personal portfolio, including a self-portrait, which you can add to during the course.
