The course will cover key skills including : the choice & preparation of materials, learning the essential hand-tying technique of spiralling your stems to create a strong bouquet shape, methods & materials to gift wrap designs, and will also consider current trends & style influences.

Create a stunning & fully sustainable natural style wreath to hang either inside your home or to decorate your front door. This would also make an impressive gift, and could be completely preserved and dried to re-use. To make your wreath fully biodegradable, you will construct the base using twigs and twine, and decorate it using a range of mixed seasonal foliage & dried and preserved materials. The focus of this style is to create a soft and highly textured design in subtle & natural colour tones. This creative & hugely enjoyable class will be taught by an industry professional florist, and all the materials you will use are provided for you

Course Summary: This two-week course will teach you the essential wiring & construction skills to enable you to make three beautiful wearable designs for a special occasion such as a wedding, party, festival or prom. These are a modern buttonhole, a wrist corsage and an on-trend floral crown. You will be sent materials recommendations closer to the start date of the course, but you will be able to make your designs in either fresh, dried or artificial materials – or combinations of these- to enable you to keep and re-wear them

This hugely enjoyable and creative class will be taught by an industry professional florist- and will enable you to create a seasonal hanging door wreath using a traditionally constructed moss ring. Your design will then be decorated using fresh foliage, and a range of natural materials that will include preserved whole and sliced fruits, cones & cinnamon sticks- other materials such as ribbons & preserved foliage will also be provided, if you wish to add these as an accent. You will also have the opportunity to discuss alternative materials and further ideas for personalising your designs. If you have any of your own favourite materials at home that you may wish to incorporate into your wreath, such as coloured twigs or baubles, please bring them along.

This fantastic two part course will firstly take you on a fully guided tour of a busy Wholesale Flower Market, giving you the opportunity to discover how this functions, the range & extent of available materials, and how you would go about using the market as a freelancer. PLEASE NOTE: this will involve an earlier morning start of between 8-9 am, which it isn’t possible to indicate on the website. For the second session you will be classroom based and will have the opportunity to explore online wholesale purchasing & deliveries, discuss and share experiences, and ask further questions.
