This course supports adults with special educational deeds and learning disabilities to develop the confidence and practical skills needed to move towards employment, volunteering, or further learning. You will work at an individual pace in a supportive environment, using hands-on activities, role play, repetition and visual resources. The course focuses on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and understanding workplace expectations. You will build independence through real-life tasks such as following instructions, interacting with others, and managing simple responsibilities. Across three terms, you will progress from exploring your strengths to developing employability skills and preparing for next steps.
In term 1, you will focus on discovering yourself, building confidence, communication skills and self-awareness and by the end of the course, you will understand your rights at work and how to disclose a disability, have a simple progression plan and improved confidence in moving toward work.

On this course for adults with special educational needs and learning disabilities, you can improve reading and understanding of text, improve use of numbers to describe quantities and measure volume and time. Study skills to organise your learning, self-management to acquire confidence and new life skills. Learn to develop writing with clarity and grammatical accuracy. Develop reading with understanding of meaning. Explain the main points from a text they have read. Research and write a paragraph on chosen topics and collaborate with their class peers.

This friendly and supportive course is designed for adults who are blind or have visual impairments, memory difficulties due to health conditions or following a stroke, and other learners who might benefit from accessible technology. You will build confidence using screen readers, keyboard shortcuts and accessibility features through practical, everyday tasks. Regular repetition and routine will help improve confidence, memory and independence. The course is a mixed ability class, including for ESOL learners (English for speakers of other languages) and those with mild learning disabilities.

This course is for adults with special educational needs and learning disabilities to develop the confidence, communication, and practical employability skills needed to move towards employment, volunteering, or further learning. You will work at your own pace in a supportive environment using hands-on activities, role play, repetition, visual resources, and practical tasks.
The course focuses on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, workplace behaviour, and developing independence through real-life learning activities. You will take part in practical office-style and outdoor tasks, work as part of a team throughout the year, and develop confidence in following routines and responsibilities.
Across three terms, you will progress from identifying your strengths and building confidence, to developing employability skills and preparing for realistic workplace situations. You will also explore CV writing, interview practice, workplace scenarios, and recording your experiences in a personal progress booklet.
