Studying maths can help you feel more confident using everyday maths while gaining a Functional Skills or GCSE qualification, allowing you to progress to further training and enhance your employability.

You’ll have access to excellent resources and technology while being supported by qualified specialist tutors who are committed to your progress and development.

All maths courses are free to join.

Entry level courses

If you missed out on studying maths at school, or you’ve always found maths a struggle, then an entry level course is for you. We offer free accredited Functional Skills courses at entry level 2 and entry level 3 and non-accredited courses for adults who aren’t yet ready for exams.

Level 1 courses

This free course is for people who need to brush up their maths skills for work or personal use. A Functional Skills level 1 qualification demonstrates the ability to apply a basic understanding of maths in real life situations at home and work.

GCSE courses

This free course is suitable for anyone with a good grounding in maths. We offer both foundation and higher tier maths GCSE. If you aren’t ready to take your maths GCSE, you can take a level 1 Functional Skills course or enrol in the non-accredited pre-GCSE programme.

How to enrol

Pre‑course assessments for courses starting in September

If you’d like to enrol on a maths course starting in September, you’ll need to complete a pre‑course assessment to ensure you’re placed at the right level.

Assessments will take place between 14–15 July and more dates from 7–19 September, with appointments available at various times throughout the summer.

To secure your assessment slot, please call 020 8314 3300, Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm.
Our team will help you choose a time that works best for you.

Do I have to pay or is the course free?

Free for English and maths

ESOL £75-£225

I want to do the course. What do I need to do?

You need to book a pre course assessment. You will be asked if you work or receive benefits.

What do I need to do to apply for reduced fees?

Bring your evidence of benefits or payslip on or before your assessment day.

When can I start the course?

After you have completed the skills assessment and have paid or have your reduced course fee approved.
